Old LA Zoo : The old Los Angeles zoo, located in Griffith Park. This zoo operated from 1912 to 1965. Now the cages are empty and all that's left is a creepy vibe. Cool stuff to shoot, but as an animal lover, this place disturbed me.

San Gabriel Valley : On November 21, 2009, I went exploring in the San Gabriel Valley! I visited the Workman/Temple Homestead in the City of Industry, CA and the Fairmount Cemetery near Azusa, CA.

A pond of Koi fish at the Homestead museum was a special surprise and resulted in my favorite photos of the day. The trip was a birthday celebration for Esotouric's Richard Schave. Union Rescue Mission : Union Rescue Mission

Recently, I saw the city skyline from a different perspective- from the rooftop of the Union Rescue Mission in skid row. The URM, along with LAVA (Los Angeles Visionaries Association) hosted a screening of the 1949 film, Of Scrap & Steel. The film was produced by the Union Rescue Mission, started Porter Hall and told the story of one man's struggle and how he found redemption through the help of the URM.

Rev. Andy Bales welcomed us and spoke before the film. Also in attendance were Richard Schave and Nathan Marsak who gave us insight on the neighborhood's history. Boxed dinners, "Meals with a purpose", were provided at a low price and proceeds went the URM to feed others.
